This is the first in a difference line series that showcases a simple concept. We’ll see what kind of variations on the theme I can come up with. Have fun with it! I hope that it inspires others to create something new.

Sudoku: Standard rules apply (place the digits 1 to 9 in every row, column, and 3x3 box; you even get some digits for free here!)

Diamond difference lines: The two digits adjacent to a diamond on a line have an absolute difference equal to the digit in the diamond. (For example, 1 and 9 can surround an 8 on a diamond, or 2 and 3 can surround a 1 on a diamond.) All lines are straight and do not branch. Intersecting lines act independently of each other. (In other words, the two digits vertically surrounding a diamond at an intersection are on their own vertical line, and the two digits horizontally surrounding the same diamond are on their own horizontal line, and these two pairs of digits do not interact.)
