Hitbox

Hello.

Normal Sudoku rules apply.

Every 3×3 box must contain exactly three digits (hit points) that match their position within the box. Positions are counted from left to right, then top to bottom.

For example, in box 1, the digit 5 counts as a hit point only if it occurs in r2c2.

No two orthogonally adjacent digits may be consecutive anywhere in the grid.

Have fun.

Solution code: Row 9, first 6 digits.

The fact that there is a trick to realize it's what makes this 2* for me

I agree. I posted it as a 2 star and was a bit surprised with the 1 star rating. Would be nice if LMD showed difficulty ratings with one digit after the comma, like 1.5 for example. Thanks for playing! Grts, Jonesy.

Really nice, stared blankly for 10 minutes before it clicked :)

For some reason I assumed the column and row hits would count as well and spent way too much time figuring that out.

Eventually this was very fun and interesting puzzle.

Absolutely loved this puzzle, but would rate it 1-star for difficulty, took just under 15 min as the break-in presented itself almost immediately. Brilliant concept though and loads of fun to hunt after the digits!

Took me quite a while to spot the key idea, but once it clicked the rest solved really smoothly. Really fun and elegant puzzle!
