- Divide the grid into 6 six-cell orthogonally connected regions, and place the digits 1-6 once in each row, column, and region.
- Outside the grid, clues sit between rows/columns and indicate the grid line that separates these rows/columns (e.g. the 3 between c1 and c2 refers to the grid line between c1 and c2). Each clue counts how many continuous stretches of region border appear along its grid line.
- Region borders divide the grey line into segments. None of these segments may have the same sum.
- The arrow points to the lesser of the two digits it sits between.

Stared for a while thinking, "How can I possibly start this?" Then you spot something. And stage 1 goes smoothly. Then I can't make a start on stage 2 but I'm invested now. How do I know if this is right? Solution check does nothing until you get a digit. Then I started a spreadsheet to go through the combinations with a lightbulb moment to resolve stage 2, and only then finally entered some digits. Wow!!

My solve took on three stages, with just a little overlap -- all three stages very fun. Thanks for sharing this bite-size chaos construction. 9x9's are just a little too much for me!
