Look, Say, Find, Say, Look

Look-and-say cages:
Numbers in a cage clue are read in pairs, where the first digit of each pair gives the number of occurrences of the second digit within the cage.
For example, 234521 indicates that the cage contains two 3s, four 5s, and two 1s.Additionally in every cage, the 10 digits specified by each Look-and-Say clue form two 5-cell palindromes, each lying entirely within that cage. These palindromes may be extended beyond five cells, and additional palindromes may exist, but the five central cells of the two required palindromes are exactly the digits specified by the clue. These palindromes cannot intersect or share cells.
Palindromes:
Digits along a palindrome read the same forwards and backwards. Consecutive cells of a palindrome must be orthogonally or diagonally adjacent.

Very nice puzzle, I think more of a 2* even accounting for the uncommon varient. That said, I will say that I think this ruleset would benefit greatly from having a mini example for the palindrome lines, since it wasn't immediately clear that the palindromes were only for the given digits.

I haven't attempted a solve yet, but for clarity: within each cage you can draw 2 5-cell palindrome lines? Are there rules about how palindrome lines can or cannot be drawn (can they move diagonally, self-intersect, etc.)?

Yes, that is right. The 10 Digits in the clues go on 2 5 cell palindrome lines. The lines can go orthogonal and diagonally and cannot intersect(it is written in the Rules, too). Hope this helps, If you have more questions don't hesitate to ask :)

Great puzzle: 2-3* as for others. Some of the difficulty is "learning curve" - my first encounter with this set-up.
It would have helped me to understand the rules if they had said that each cage has 10 clued digits which form two 5-cell palindromes. I got there in the end.

Thank you, I agree that getting used to the ruleset increases the difficulty. That is why I inserted it as a 3* puzzle. I will probably change the wording of the rules a little bit tomorrow so they are easier to understand, thanks for the feedback.
