For this Sudoku Variants Project I have planned to publish a unique Sudoku variant every week.
Wall
Inspiration for this type comes from 真笑.
Solve online in Sudokupad.
I will see how long it takes before I am running out of ideas.
Apply classic sudoku rules.
Some cells contain a clue in a small red font. Each clue consists of two digits. One of the digits indicates the total count of cells that can be seen horizontally (to the left and right in total) before hitting a wall or the border of the grid, including the cell itself. The other digit indicates the same count for the cells that can be seen vertically. A wall has to be placed between each pair of consecutive digits in horizontally or vertically adjacent cells. The cells in which clues are written contain one of the two clue digits. For solving purposes it is not necessary to draw all possible walls in the grid.

Great puzzle (and thanks for the rules clarification)! Was a very interesting way to think about the grid, I hope this puzzle inspires more of these!

The rules say a wall has to be placed between all adjacent consecutive pairs of digits, but can a wall be placed between non-consecutive pairs (i.e. if there’s a wall, does it automatically act as a kropki dot?)
