A Snugness in the Fog

(Published on 29. July 2026, 05:52 by lgastako)

I hope you enjoy my latest puzzle. I tried something a little different this time. Please let me know what you think, what you like or even what you don't like, so I can do better next time. Thanks!

  • Normal Sudoku Rules: Fill each row, column, and 3x3 box with the digits 1-9 once each.
  • White Kropkis/Black Kropkis: Digits in cells separated by a white dot are consecutive. Digits in cells separated by a black dot have a 1:2 ratio.
  • German Whispers: Along green lines, digits must differ from their neighbors by at least 5.
  • X/V: Cells separated by X must sum to 10. Cells separated by V must sum to 5.
  • Antiking: Cells which are a (chess) king's move apart cannot share the same digit.
  • Nonconsecutive: Orthogonally adjacent cells cannot hold consecutive digits.
  • Fog: Parts of the board are initially hidden. Entering correct digits will clear the fog in surrounding cells. No guessing is necessary.

Solution code: Row 9, in order, left to right.

a great way to get used to dealing with several constraints at once

The early parts were clever and fun. In the end it got repetitious and tedious, going 1 cell at a time, checking the same things for each one.

link is clicking the picture. and for the maker while quite easy the solve for building out from box 2,5,7 was a intrasting setup but got dull since it was a lot of rinse and repeat

Fun with a bit of make you think a little harder in the middle. Thought I wasn't going to need the anti-king rule but then I needed it.
