Indices Within (Index Line 159 Sudoku)

(Published on 23. July 2026, 18:10 by Nell Gwyn)

  • Sudoku: Place the digits 1 to 9 once each in every row, column and box.
  • 159: Digits in the first, fifth and ninth columns give the position of the 1, 5 and 9 (respectively) in their respective rows (e.g. if r4c1 is a 7 then r4c7 is a 1).
  • Index Lines: The Nth digit on a blue line (starting from the diamond) gives the position of the digit N along that line (e.g. if the 2nd digit along a line is a 5, then the 5th digit along that same line must be a 2).
  • Killer: Digits in a cage cannot repeat and must sum to the number in the corner.

Still my absolute favorite ruleset and another lovely 159 puzzle.

This one was just beatiful with the simplicity of the grid in the beginning. Very cool to see it unravel.
