(Published on 20. July 2026, 20:15 by The Pi Guy)
A puzzle inspired by the May heatwave.
Diagonal sudoku: Put the digits 1 to 9 once each into every row, column & 3 by 3 box and on each marked diagonal (southwest to northeast & northwest to southeast).
Thermometers: Digits on a thermometer must strictly increase from the bulb to the tip.
Knight’s move: Cells that are a chess knight’s move apart must contain different digits.
Getting warmer: Some cells in the central 5 by 5 area have been outlined with a dark grey square. These cells may be useful during the solve.
Solution code: The digits on the positive diagonal, starting from the southwest and working up the diagonal.
