HI Adrian,
I am constantly on the look out for nice puzzle, I do find them and quite often reward them with an excellent score and comment. No encouragment needed :-) Some are even too hard and it's obviuously nice to swap my attention to an easier or smaller puzzle once in a while to avoid overheating the brain. But honestly, even as an introduction to some core principles, one may expect more from a puzzle than what has been published here.
Thanks for your reaction.

You are correct, marcmees. This is one of the smallest and easiest puzzles of the pack.
The puzzles I make is ment as an introduction and exploration of different Sudoku variants. Even if LMG features hard and difficult puzzles, I don’t want to limit myself to only posting the advanced puzzles I make. I understand that small and simple puzzles are less appealing to some solvers, perhaps even the majority. At the same time I have gotten feedback from solvers who are new to variants, that appreciates there existing clean and accessible ways to learn core principles on this site.
Even though this particular puzzle is easy, it introduces the power of looking at the 0-clue, which is not obvious to those who entounter Sandwich Sudoku for the first times.
I post 3-4 times a week, trying to space out both grid size and difficulty, to make the spread as big as possible for different levels of solvers. That naturally means not every puzzle will appeal to everyone. I still believe these simpler puzzles have their place here.
There are plenty of difficult, clever and beautifully constructed puzzles from the best of the best being published on LMG every day. I’d encourage you to be on the lookout for their next ones :)

128 handcrafted puzzles, 4 sizes, 4 difficulties. I truly hope this one must be the smallest and easiest one of the pack, only offering toddlers under the age of 3 their first succes in solving a variant sudoku or just allowing solvers with more ambition than skills to boost their stats. What's the point of publishing this puzzle? Sorry for being so blunt but since Covid, the quality of this website has crashed to a miserable level where it gets almost harder to find a decent, well constructed puzzle amongst the flood of xxx (which setters stubbornly publish daily even when it has been gently adviced not to do so) than making the actual puzzle.
