Japanese Sums mit Käfigsummen

(Published on 17. July 2026, 14:23 by Rätselmann)

For my first puzzle on the portal, I deliberately chose a relatively small and hopefully not overly difficult puzzle. With future puzzles, I would like to work my way up to larger and more challenging variants. If this puzzle feels a little too easy for experienced solvers, please bear with me. Enjoy!

Rules:

Enter digits from 1 to 9 into some cells and shade the remaining cells black. No digit may appear more than once in any row or column.

The clues outside the grid give the sums of the contiguous blocks of digits in the correct order. Blocks are separated by at least one black cell; their lengths are unknown.

A single question mark (?) represents an unknown one-digit sum, while ?? represents an unknown two-digit sum.

Dashed cages: The small number gives the sum of all digits in the cage. Cages may also contain black cells; these count as 0. No digit may appear more than once within a cage.

Solution code: Enter the digits in the top two rows, reading each row from left to right without spaces. Use 0 for black cells. Enter everything as one continuous string, for example: 340015060029.

More to come in the future…I create all these puzzles with love and detail manually, so not always diabolically hard but I try my best with lots of different sizes and twists. Other puzzle types in my mind as well, thx for the comments so far
