For this Sudoku Variants Project I have planned to publish a unique Sudoku variant every week.
Golden cells
Inspiration for this type comes from AlfSmith.
Solve online in Sudokupad.
I will see how long it takes before I am running out of ideas.
Apply classic sudoku rules.
A digit in a golden cell indicates its position within the row, and/or column and/or box in which it is placed. A digit in a white cell does not indicate its position within the row, column or box in which it is placed. The position is read from left to right, top to bottom.
For example: R1C9 is a golden cell and must contain either a 1 (row), 9 (column) or 3 (position in the box).
R1C8 is not gold and may not contain a 1 (row), 8 (column) or 2 (box).
Solution code: Row 8
