By The Way, Which One's Pink? 2

(Published on 10. July 2026, 02:08 by juddimal)

Normal sudoku rules apply.

All lines are REGION SUM LINES (blue): box borders separate blue lines into segments with the same sum.
Each line also has one additional constraint.

  • Box 1 has a MODULAR (teal) line: any sequence of three digits along the line must contain a digit from {1,4,7}, one from {2,5,8}, and one from {3,6,9}.
  • One line is ENTROPIC (orange): any sequence of three digits along the line must contain a digit from {1,2,3}, one from {4,5,6}, and one from {7,8,9}.
  • One line is PARITY (red): adjacent digits along the line alternate even/odd.
  • One line is PALINDROME (gray): digits on the line read the same in both directions.
  • One line is GERMAN WHISPER (green): adjacent digits along the line must differ by 5 or more.
  • And finally, one line is RENBAN (pink): digits along the line must be a non-repeating set of consecutive digits, in any order.

It is up the solver to determine which constraints go on each line. Color the remaining five lines {orange, red, gray, green, pink}. All lines are region sum and each additional constraint is used once.

Great puzzle! I loved the fact that it still required a lot of thinking even after figuring out which line was which.

Very nice construction! It's the kind of puzzle where, if you know how to ask the right questions, it just unfolds and solves very smoothly. I would also say 3.5*, probably closer to 3* for me.

Lovely break-in, 4* difficulty for that. No real surprises after that, smooth sailing towards the end.

Very nice construction. Felt like a 3-3.5* rather than 5* to me.

Brilliant puzzle! Interesting to discover which line has which constraint, which was not that hard. After that some great interactions that made the gorgeous break-in, smooth sailing after that. 3 to 4 stars in my opinion. Thanks
