Draw a loop into the diagram which uses the edges of the tiles and does not cross or touch itself. The loop has to pass all vertexes with + or x. For every + the loop has to turn left, for every x it has to turn right. The orientation of the loop has to be figured out.
Solution code: The sizes of the areas outside the loop, clockwise beginning in the upper left.
