Masyu / Tri-Place / U-Bahn Permaculture
(Published on 3. July 2026, 09:00 by Agent)
Rules
- Divide the grid into three areas of orthogonally connected cells: a Masyu (Parity), a Tri-Place (Summation) and a U-Bahn (Summation).
- Masyu (Parity):
- Draw a single non-intersecting loop that travels orthogonally through the centers of some cells in the Masyu area.
- The loop may not enter the U-Bahn or the Tri-Place areas.
- All grey circles must be on the loop.
- The loop must turn on circles containing an even number and travel straight through the cells on either side.
- The loop must go straight through circles containing an odd number, and turn in at least one of the cells on either side.
- Tri-Place (Summation):
- Divide the Tri-Place area into regions of three orthogonally connected cells.
- All cells in the Tri-Place area must belong to a region, and those regions may not enter the Masyu or the U-Bahn areas.
- In each set of clues outside the grid, exactly one clue indicates the sum of values of all cells belonging to the Tri-Place area in the corresponding row or column.
- Cells inside a rectangular region have a value of 1, while cells inside a non-rectangular region have a value of 2.
- U-Bahn (Summation):
- Draw a totally connected loop network through the centers of some cells in the U-Bahn area, which may branch or turn, but may not have any dead ends.
- The loop network may not enter the Masyu or Tri-Place areas.
- In each set of clues outside the grid, all clues except the Tri-Place clue indicate the sum of values in a contiguous sequence of cells visited by the loop network.
- Consecutive sequences must be separated by one or more cells not visited by the loop network, which could be in any area.
- Values of cells on the loop network are determined as follows: corner = 1, straight line = 2, branch = 3, cross = 4.
- Each set of clues outside the grid is sorted in ascending order.
- Each set of clues outside the grid is complete, that is, there's always exactly one Tri-Place clue, and exactly one additional clue for each sequence of cells visited by the U-Bahn loop network in the corresponding row or column.
- Each letter represents a different non-negative integer, which may include zero. A question mark may represent any non-negative integer, including zero or two-digit numbers.
Example Puzzle (9x9)
Main Puzzle (14x14)
