Anti-Everything Miracle

(Published on 30. May 2026, 17:08 by addie)

Standard sudoku rules apply. Also, antiking, antiknight, non-consecutive, disjoint groups, and thermo standard rules apply.

Nonconsecutive: Any two orthogonally adjacent cells cannot contain consecutive digits.

Antiknight and Antiking: Any two cells separated by a knight's or king’s move in chess cannot contain the same digit.

Disjoint groups: Cells that appear in the same position relative to their box must not contain the same number.

Thermometers: Digits along a thermometer must increase from the bulb to the tip.

Very nice. The Thermos trick you into believing that their sequence is the key to the break-in, but not quite. Once I got the knack, it was very smooth.

The Disjoint Group constraint is not even needed.

To QuiltyAsCharged: I'm very new to setting puzzles so I didn't know that rule or use it while play testing. So I don't know how to prove that pattern, but I will look into it!

anyone who understands how anti-knight, anti-king, non-consecutive (the "miracle" combo) works will find this very easy. anyone else is unlikely to be able to even start.

the starting point seems to be tracking the 1s, starting from box 5.

the disjoint set rule does not seem to help the solve.

Hi, thanks for the puzzle — really clever concept, and it led to a very smooth and satisfying solve!

Interestingly, I didn't use the Disjoint Groups rule at all, and the Thermometers ended up being almost irrelevant for my solve path as well, so the puzzle felt more like a 1★ difficulty to me. Still, it was a lot of fun to work through. Thanks for creating and sharing it!

Here’s a link to the puzzle with the solution checker enabled:
https://sudokupad.app/pg2dqpwl8x

Also, you can make the link clickable directly in the description. In the “Puzzle (English)” section, add:

Solve on Sudokupad

and it’ll show up as a clickable link.

Thanks again for the puzzle, and good luck with your future creations!

How to embed an image:
1. Click on "Create a new puzzle" in the left sidebar.
2. There is an upload box on the right side. Select your image, write into the box underneath "my own image", and activate the checkbox. Then submit the form.
3. After that you get a success message with you image ID, for example "0012C4". In your puzzle description use that ID like this: < img:0012C4 > (without the spaces).

That's it.

Hi Narayana! Thank you so much for your feedback :) I will add the definitions later today when I have access to my computer. I haven’t been able to figure out how to add the image, if you know how and could let me know I would really appreciate it! This is the second puzzle I’ve created and posted so I appreciate any help and feedback :)

To philolologue: Yes!

For reference I am adding the definitions below. When addie sees this I hope they can update their puzzle.

Quick question, does non-consecutive mean consecutive digits cannot be orthogonally connected?

Nice puzzle. Please add image to LMD.

Also for completeness please state the definition of each of the sudoku variant rules. You can copy paste from other setters.
