Digits separated by an X sum to 10. Not all Xs are given.
Each cell touching an X acts as a fortress (maximum) cell: it must be larger than all its orthogonal neighbors that do not touch an X.

Unlike some other commenters here, I found the break-in to be rather obvious, but had to scratch my head more than once after that.

Very nice! 2 stars only because of my solve time. To really break-in it needs some 3 star thinking, after that the puzzle collapses beautifully. Thanks
