Fog of War #26

(Published on 21. May 2026, 05:54 by Sudonym)

Fog of war sudoku. Mixed rules. Link to puzzle. sudokupad. There is a video solution and more puzzles on youtube channel "sudoku spot" Rules: Normal sudoku rules apply. Cells adjacent to an X add to 10. Cells adjacent to white dots are consecutive numbers. Cells on pink Renban lines are a group of consecutive numbers in any order on the line. Cells on grey sequence lines must be the same amount apart and in order. E.g. 111 456 2468 741 9753 Cells on the blue thermometers must increase in value going away from the bulb. Numbers outside the grid are the sum of the numbers between 1 and 9 in that row or column (Sandwich sums). Numbers cannot repeat in the same box position in another 3x3 region...meaning the first cell of each region must contain the numbers 1-9, the second cell of each region must contain the numbers 1-9 e.t.c.

I enjoyed this! Was annoying at first to keep track of disjoint sets without the conflict checker keeping track of it for me but I figured out a nice system where I colored in cells in box 1 to represent every cell a 1 had already been placed in, and same for all the rest of the digits down the line. I'd say this is one star but I'm not the best judge.

I was tempted to put this at a 1 but my time was much slower than it need to be since I forgot the disjoint set rule.

Very nice, 2 stars difficulty. The disjoint subgroups variant is tricky at times though.

I would say 1.5* for difficulty as many variants get used here (even if not too complex). Thanks

Not sure if 1 or 2 stars for this one. Hard to judge when you have set the puzzle yourself. Guess it depends how smart you are too. :) Hope you enjoy it either way.
