I was stuck because I thought that the digit in the circle must be assigned to only one of the four surrounding cells. But then I tried with more than one and it went smoothly

Being retired, I have time to solve several puzzles a day. This one delighted me with some bewildering notation. You just picked and picked and then you'd get ten digits in a row. Then back to picking. Delightful! Just plain fun to solve.

I think an experienced Quad solver will find this to be 1 star, someone new to the concept and strategies will face a puzzle that is a bit challenging and a good introduction to this particular rule.
