Identity Theft v2

(Published on 10. May 2026, 15:49 by masetab)

A little while ago I tried to make a puzzle with this sort of ruleset and failed miserably ... this should be a better attempt. Hope you enjoy!

Rules:

Normal Sudoku rules apply. The grid is covered in fog. Entering correct digits may clear fog. No guessing is required.

There is one 'imposter' cell in every row, column, and 3×3 box which all contain different digits. Each imposter cell takes the value of a digit from 1-9 that is not its own digit and no two imposter cells have the same value. The value of a non-imposter cell is its digit.

For each type of constraint listed below, a digit may appear at most once across the entire grid on that constrain type. Values may repeat on constraints if allowed by other rules.

  1. German whisper lines: Adjacent values along greenlines must differ by at least 5.
  2. Renban lines: Values along purple lines form a set of consecutive numbers in any order.
  3. Values in cells joined by an X sum to 10.
  4. Values in cells joined by an V sum to 5.
  5. A black dot between two cells indicates that one value is double the other.
  6. A white dot between two cells indicates their values are consecutive.
  7. Region Sum Lines: The 3x3 box borders divide each blue line into segments with the same sum of values.

Any feedback is welcomed! Also, I would love for you to check out some of my other puzzles if you enjoy!
