Normal Sudoku rules apply.
Climbing Cells: A cell is a climbing cell when viewed from the edge of the grid if, from that direction, the previous cell is less that that cell. This means that the first cell seen from a particular viewpoint is NEVER a climbing cell, as it has no prior cell.
Japanese Sums: Clues outside the grid give the sum of contiguous groups of climbing cells in the same order as the row as seen from that direction, separated by cells which are not climbing cells. If any part of the row is clued from a direction, the whole row is clued from that direction. No clue starts 0.
Wildcards:
For example, if the row 156732984 were fully clued from both sides without any wildcards, the left-hand clue would read left-to-right and see -567--9-- and so would be → 18 9; the right-hand clue would read right-to-left and see --73---98- and so would be 10 17 ←.
Solution code: Row 8

Nice puzzle with enough clues for a rather smooth solve. A bit surprised by the lack of solvers. Thanks
