This was my entry for turn 2 of season 2 of The Skunkworks League, hosted by damasosos92. In this round, the prompt was to create two puzzles that must be solved simultaneously, one with numbers and one without.
Rules:
The left 9x8 grid is a Fillomino puzzle. The right 9x10 grid is a Yin Yang puzzle.
Fillomino: Divide the left 9x8 grid into regions of orthogonally connected cells and place a number into each cell, indicating the size of its region. Two regions of the same size may not share an edge.
Yin Yang: Shade some cells in the right 9x10 grid such that all shaded cells are orthogonally connected, all unshaded cells are orthogonally connected, and no 2x2 area is fully shaded or fully unshaded. A black circle indicates that cell is shaded. A white circle indicates that cell is unshaded.
Grid Interaction: The number of unique Fillomino regions in each row of the left grid must be equal to the number of shaded cells in the corresponding row of the right grid. Note that if a region has multiple distinct sections in a row, it's still treated as a single unique region for that row.
Solution code: Row 8 of the fillomino, followed by the number of shaded cells in each row of the yin yang (top to bottom) [17 numbers total]
