Region Reconstruction by BlueToast001

Normal sudoku rules NEARLY apply. Put the digits 1 - 9 in each row and column... there are no boxes but that'll be explained later.

White Kropki: Digits separated by a white dot are consecutive. Not all possible dots are shown.

Black Kropki: Digits separated by a black dot indicate one digit is double the other. Not all possible dots are shown.

Killer Cages: Digits in killer cages sum to the number in the top-left corner. Digits may not repeat within a cage.

Region Rebuilding: Once the grid has been filled, divide it into 9 regions of 9 orthogonally connected cells each, such that every cell belongs to exactly one region. Digits 1 to 9 must appear exactly once in each row, column, and region.

Pink Circles and Grey Squares: Each region may contain ONLY pink circles, OR, ONLY grey squares, but NEVER both. (They are not friends D: ).

Those are the rules! Good luck!

Solution code: Enter the digits from column 7 (from top to bottom). Put a "-" between numbers that are of different regions. E.g if from top to bottom in column 7, you have a 1 then a new region, a 2,3,4,5 then a new region, then a 6,7,8,9, the code would be 1-2345-6789. - 9 digits total.

A fun, relatively easy CC puzzle! My only complaint is that it's a little visually noisy - the pink/grey thing is a neat rule, but it does add clutter during the digit-adding part.

Thank you for this nice puzzle.

My region building is weak, so this is great for me.

Super fun puzzle! I really liked the second half, solving an already "solved" puzzle :)

I see it as a 2in1 puzzle and I like it. Thx for setting.

Honestly kinda fun to keep the region building second, it forced you to include so many clues that the difficulty of the sudoku was kept low. Having the region building and sudoku completely separate phases is pretty common in chaos construction, so I don’t really have complaints about that. Although normally it’s because you can draw all the regions before doing any of the digits!

My only actual complaint is the rules don’t seem to include any description of the black borders you’ve drawn in. Like, the conclusion of their meaning is pretty obvious, but I actively avoided using them in the solve and you don’t in fact need them at all (and I think it’s more exciting/fun to not have them).
