I don't know what to make of this. I got completely stuck with it and then decided to just assume that the region walls can't poke into the region and only exist as a continuous outline.
This way it was approachable, but I'm not sure if I cheated by doing that as it's not really defined in the rules.

You didn't cheat. The rules call these "walls" region "boundaries," meaning two cells separated by a thick line are forced to be part of two different regions. they wouldn't be much of a boundary if both sides of the line could belong to the same region. Thanks for solving despite the confusion
