This puzzle is the result of a collaboration of @Pulsar and me, after playing around with a 'global whispers constraint'. Thanks a lot for the fun exchange! Both of us created a puzzle with a slightly different ruleset. You can check their puzzle out here. Enjoy!
Normal Sudoku rules apply. Place the digits 1-9 once into each row, column and box.
Doublers:
If a digit within a box is equal to its relative position in that box (read from left to right and top to bottom), the value of that digit is doubled for the Whispering Neighbours constraint.
Each digit from 1-9 is doubled exactly once, and each box must contain exactly one doubler. Rows and columns may contain zero, one, or more than one doubler.
Whispering Neighbours:
Each cell in the grid has at least one orthogonally adjacent cell such that their values differ by at least 5.
Housing Subdivision:
The digit in the top-left corner of a single-cell cage is equal to the number of orthogonal neighbours, whose values have a difference of 5 or more from the caged cell.
The grid is covered in dense fog. Placing correct digits may reveal additional cells. No guessing is required.
