Anybody remember "Asterisk" Sudoku? This is an Asterisk Sudoku I made as a challenge when I first started setting puzzles. However, the solve path is full of chains better suited for speed solving rather than a logical solve. I have revisited the puzzle and added clues for those interested in the smoother experience.

The rules are as follows:

• Asterisk Sudoku/Extra Region: Place the digits 1-9 once in every row, column, and box such that no digit repeats within the shaded cells.
• The puzzle is unique by treating the golden circles as cosmetic. However, for a smoother solve, digits separated by a golden circle cannot have a difference of one.
