The opening steps of this puzzle were inspired by something fellow setter
sujoyku required in a recent puzzle of his. So I wanted to see what I would come up with following that thread :)
Rules:
- Normal sudoku rules apply. Place the digits 1-9 in each row, column, and 3x3 box without repetition.
- Killer Cages: Digits in dotted-line cages must sum to the number in the top left corner of the cage.

Hint 1: The title is a reference to how you should pay attention to the cages in boxes 1 and 9. Each cage only has a few cases they can fall within and they interact with each other by having some digits shared in common no matter what combination. Box 9's is trickier to spot, but there are 3 digits in common across all case combinations.
Hint 2: Keep an eye out for a virtual triple in row 3. Row 7's 15 cage can be worked out utilizing the non-caged digits in box 9, which you can obtain by paying extra attenmtion to what options actually work for the 10 cage.
Hint 3: Where are the high digits in column 3?
Hint 4: Where can 4 go in row 5?
Solution code: Column 9 from top to bottom (9 digits)
