7 in the corner

(Published on 12. April 2026, 00:21 by Plok)

My first 7x7 puzzle.
I always try to keep a minium set of rules as simple as possible. So just XV and a 3 in the corner.
I Hope you like it as much as I did.

Any feedback is highly appreciated.

You can play the puzzle in Sudokupad

Rules:
- Normal 7×7 Sudoku rules: each row, column, and region contains the digits 1–7.
- XV pairs: digits separated by a V sum to 5; digits separated by an X sum to 10. No negative constraint.
- There is at least a 3 in the corner.

Solution code: The last 4 digits in the last row

I might have done something wrong because I didn't need the 3 in the corner rule at all.

I used some star battle (aka two not touch) techniques to help solve this. Jigsaw sudoku variants are great.

Very nice 1* coloring :)

Great lower 2* snack. Great coloring practice. Maybe at least a 3in the corner was clearer. Great setting thx.

The rules on Sudokupad say there is a 3 in „one corner“. That‘s confusing the rule as stated here is clearer.

Thanks for the heads up. Fixed it correctly now.

Thank you. You can solve it without coloring, which makes the puzzle a bit more challenging, I updated the rules.

Really enjoyable puzzle! The coloring was satisfying and not too tricky, and we always love a 3 in the corner :)

Thanks for the puzzle!

A while back I thought it’d be fun to have a required three in the corner for a puzzle too but mine was on the opposite end of the difficulty spectrum. This is a much clearer use :)

A nice challenge. Would have finished sooner if I didn't forget the 3 in the corner rule.
