Intro Sudoku 1: Basic Variants

Since my dad is at least slightly interested in solving sudokus, I thought I'd make a few for him to try so he can get familiar with all the rulesets and variants. I'm fairly new to solving and setting myself, but it's fun that my dad is too, and I really enjoy setting. I don't think it will be too difficult to set a few easier sudokus for him to complete.

This first entry obviously isn't very challenging, but there are a couple bits of logic in my intended solve path that could be tricky to see. Let me know how you all get by.

Rules

Normal sudoku rules apply.

- Killer Cages: Digits in a cage sum to the total in the top left corner.

- Thermometers: Digits on a thermometer strictly increase from the bulb end.

- Arrows: Digits on an arrow sum to the attached circle.

- Kropki Dots: Digits that share a black dot are in a 1:2 ratio; digits that share a white dot are consecutive.

I agree with macintux completely. A bit too challenging to be a 1* introduction, and the solution path at the end alluded me. Had to bifurcate and hope for the best.

Dear Lord, 18-digit solution code, in this day and age

Besides that, the puzzle is good, but just a bit too tricky to be an "introduction" to the variants

Unless I simply missed something, to solve the final box I had to guess one cell and plow through to the end to see whether it was correct. I couldn’t come up with any logic to derive it.

Nice puzzle, but it might be a little tough for a new solver’s first attempt. I think a 6x6 might be a better entry point.

Dermerlin - noted. I just wanted to ensure that people completed the entire puzzle.

please dont use 18 digit solution codes.
But apart from that a very nice puzzle.
