African Daisies

(Published on 3. April 2026, 20:57 by antiknight)

I wanted to create a puzzle that combines Nabner and Zipper lines, and I think it brings out some interesting ideas and deductions. It shouldn’t be too difficult, around high 2 to low 3 stars, but still offers a satisfying solve. I hope you enjoy the puzzle, and feel free to share your thoughts and difficulty rating.

Rules:
  • Sudoku: Normal Sudoku rules apply.
  • Combined Lines: All lines in the puzzle act as both Zipper lines and Nabner lines.
  • Zipper Constraint: Digits at equal distance from the center of each line must sum to the digit in the central cell marked with a lavender circle.
  • Nabner Constraint: No two digits on a line may be consecutive, and digits do not repeat along the line.

Almost didn't try this one because of the comparatively low rating. Glad I gave it a go. Made me think new thoughts.

- Thanks for the feedback and for giving it a go!

Beautiful main idea in here with a cool aha moment in the middle, well done! x)

(also screw the haters, they don’t know jacks hit)

- Thanks for your comment and feedback! I guess they either didn’t like the combination of the lines or didn’t get the break-in :P

This might be the most beautiful break-in I've ever solved. Truly in awe of this puzzle, and the logic unfolded gradually thereafter at the perfect pace, not too fast, not too slow, and sublime all the way. Antiknight, you have a beautiful mind.

Edit to add: 42 min solve for me, would rate 3.5 difficulty.

- Wow, that’s high praise! I’m really happy you found it so interesting. Thank you for the feedback and your kind comment.
