A Walk In The Park
(Published on 28. March 2026, 11:39 by Cassinii)
Hey, you must be the new town planner! Welcome to Puzzleville. I've got a job for you. I need you to plan out a beautiful path for the new park we installed last week. I've detailed the criteria for the path below, but it is important that the path visits every tree, pond, and bench at least once. Good luck!
Normal Sudoku rules apply.
• Draw a 1-cell wide path, starting at r1c1 and ending at r9c9 (indicated by green arrows).
• The path moves orthogonally, and cannot branch, or touch itself, even diagonally.
• The path must be orthogonally adjacent to every TREE, POND, and BENCH at least once.
• Trees, ponds, and benches are not on the path.
• The path acts as an entropic line, where any run of three sequential digits contains one each from the sets {123}, {456}, and {789}.
• Digits that are orthogonally adjacent to a tree must be less than the digit on the tree.
• Digits that are orthogonally adjacent to a pond must be greater than the digit on the pond.
• A digit on a bench is equal to the sum of the digits on the path that are orthogonally adjacent to the bench.
• Digits either side of a flower are consecutive.
• Flowers appear on the edge of the path (cells either side of a flower contain one path cell and one non-path cell).
• Digits either side of a pebble are in a 1:2 ratio (one is double the other).
• Pebbles appear on the path (both cells either side of a pebble are path cells).
Have Fun Solving!

Thank you very much for creating and sharing this path-puzzle. I really enjoyed the walk - even without sweet Nala …

I liked this. The path always seemed to develop all over the grid. Never had the feeling of getting stuck. Nice theme as well. Ponds being low and trees being high, it all made sense.

Is the path allowed to include the tree, pond or bench cells?
Cassinii: No. Trees, ponds, and benches are not on the path, I will make this more clear, thank for for pointing it out!
