Supersonic Slingshots

(Published on 1. April 2026, 06:08 by DubiousMobius)

Oh, happy day! I put this puzzle together for those of you who want celebrate this fine spring day with some very springy clues of your own!

Thanks to aqjhs, mnasti, and ViKingPrime for testing and rule advice.

Rules:

Sudoku:Place the digits 1-9 once each in every row, column, and 3x3 box.

Toroidal Grid: The left edge of the grid wraps around to the right, and the bottom wraps to the top. Clues outside the grid are duplicates of clues inside the grid.

Kropki: Cells separated by a white dot are consecutive. Cells separated by a black dot are in a 2:1 ratio.

Supersonic Slingshots: Each slingshot will launch a copy of the digit in the cell directly in front of it (just beyond the sling end) somewhere in the grid. The digits on a slingshot represent the distance the digit in that cell will travel from its current position. Multi-cell slingshots have multi-digit values, where the digits are read in Western reading order (so the rightmost or bottommost cell contains the unit digit, its neighbor contains the tens digit, and so on).

The flung digit will move forward along their row or column, away from the slingshot's handle. Upon reaching the grid border, the digit will wrap back around and start flying down its row/column again.
