Is This Too Aad?

(Published on 25. March 2026, 18:20 by Chilly)

This puzzle dates back quite a way, as will become clear from the solve. It's a regular killer, with a small twist that I made as a tribute to Aad Van der Wetering. Please enjoy.

The Rules:

  • Normal Sudoku rules apply.
  • Digits in cages must sum to the given total in the cage. Digits may not repeat in a cage.
  • The cages with no total all sum to the same value. The value must be determined by the solver.

Excellent. Lovely fun and logic. But if I didn't know the trick I might have hated it!

Yeah - hence the title. At the time I wasn't sure about this sort of thing, but it can be fun in small doses, and if it's done well.
