Figure 8

(Published on 12. March 2026, 16:49 by antiknight)

I wanted to combine Anti-Knight with the rules in this puzzle because I had an idea for a fun break-in and continuation. The puzzle may be a bit challenging, around 4★ for the break-in and some deductions, but hopefully the logic feels rewarding. Let me know what you think about the difficulty and whether you enjoyed solving it.

Rules:
  • Sudoku: Normal Sudoku rules apply.
  • Knight's move: Digits must not repeat in cells that are a chess knight's move apart.
  • Arrows: The digits along each arrow must sum to the digit in the circled cell. Digits may repeat along an arrow if permitted by other rules.
  • Renban: Digits along each magenta line must be a set of consecutive digits in any order.
  • Nabner: Digits do not repeat along gold Nabner lines. Additionally, no pair of digits anywhere on a Nabner line can be consecutive.

Very interesting. I especially enjoyed the logic to determine the 2 cell renban in box 8. The puzzle was so symmetrical, I kept thinking there would be two solutions right up to the final disambiguation.

- Thanks for the feedback and your comment! I tried different places to break the symmetry but was happy with this one.

Gorgeous. Insanely hard to me (couldnt have solved it without some of CTC Simon's insights along the way), but the avalanche of digits in the end was really satisfactory :)

- Thanks for the feedback and yes the avalanche was intended because its not fair after that challenging break-in :)

That was fantastic. I got focused on the wrong idea at the start but then the break in clicked. Very nice flow from there. Thanks!

- I'm glad you found it nice and enjoyed it. Thanks for your comment.
