Nurikabe Puzzle Pack
X : Balanced Nurikabe
Normal sudoku rules apply.
Divide the grid into a number of islands -- orthogonally connected groups of cells. Every island contains a single circled cell; the digit in the circle indicates the number of cells making up the island.
The islands are surrounded by a waterway -- a single orthogonally connected group of cells. All caged cells are waterway cells; the digit in a caged cell indicates how many waterway cells are seen orthogonally from that position, including itself (island cells block vision). The waterway cannot form any 2x2 areas.
Where box borders divide islands into segments, those segments must have the same sum.

This is a wonderful puzzle and the first one I've done in this series. I had a bit of trouble because I missed the last rule about the region sums. Once I noticed that, it solved beautifully. I'll definitely check the other puzzles out.

Very intuitive. Personally I’d say this is somewhere between 1-2 stars because it’s that great balance between being challenging yet not so hard you have to really strain your brain. Perfect level of difficulty for me! I <3 nurikabe. Thanks!!

Still very much enjoying this series. I'm getting better at Nurikabe, and this one in particular shows me that I'm improving with RSL type clues, too!
