A Challenge For Your Soul! (Satan 2025)

(Published on 1. March 2026, 05:10 by MathGuy_12)

This was set as /AZURE's Secret Satan Gift 2025. Check out this YouTube video to learn the basics of this genre. Thanks to everyone who helped make this event happen, particularly to Andrewsarchus and SamuPiano for testing! The specific portion of the prompt AZURE filled out that led to this puzzle stated "make a number link if you dare, satan."

Here is the message I sent in response:

Misery Xmas!

I plagiarized a little tune for this momentous occasion:

The Devil went down to Discord, he was looking for a soul to steal
He was in a bind, 'cause he was way behind, he was willing to make a deal
When he came across this young one penciling on a puzzle and solving it hot
And the Devil jumped up on a hickory stump, said, "Az, let me tell you what
You probably didn't even know it, but I'm a puzzle solver too
And if you care to take a dare, I'll make a bet with you
Now you solve pretty good, puzzle boy, but give the Devil his due
I'll bet a puzzle of gold against your soul, I think I'm better than you"

I do hope you get exactly what you asked for 😈

Sinisterly,
Satan

Rules:

  • Normal number link rules apply:

    • Draw a path that connects the two instances of each number. Some numbers are obscured by ?s.

    • All cells must have path.

    • There are no U-turns, i.e. no immediate double left turns or double right turns.

    • No two paths may overlap.

Solution code: The value each question mark is attached to in normal reading order, using ? if two question marks are attached.

Clarified overlap rules.

Beautiful - 5/5 but not wholly brutal (not 5+/5). Repays knowledge of the ruleset and some careful thought - the linked video would help a lot (I did the puzzle before reviewing the video, and there was one thing in it that I did not remember and would have made things easier). Enjoyed mightily and recommend wholeheartedly.
