Scarecrow's Cremation
(Published on 13. March 2026, 00:00 by NXTMaster)
This is the fourth puzzle in the Scarecrow series and serves as the grand finale. Previous puzzles are linked below the puzzle image. It has been five years since I set Scarecrow's Remains.
The rules are as follows:
- Place the digits 1-9 once in every row and column.
- Digits in the indicated diagonal sum to 14.
- The crematorium's flames, enhanced by magic to be powerful enough to destroy Scarecrow's remains, also devastated the grid. As such:
- The 3x3 boxes may or may not contain the full set of digits 1-9.
- The nine shaded cells, one of Scarecrow's final remains, do not contain the full set of digits 1-9.
- None of the nine disjoint groups, composed of cells in the same relative position in boxes, contain the full set of digits 1-9.
The puzzle is available on
SudokuPad. Have fun cremating!

Lovely! Extensive pencilmarking and noticing some well hidden patterns helped me to make slow but steady progress. Thanks
