Definitely helps to know some tricks for a couple of these, but I got each one in under 5 minutes (kropki came pretty close to breaking that, though).
I think the arrows and RSLs are the best introductory puzzles for someone new to sudoku, thermo is good for someone who's done sudoku a fair bit but is new to variants, with renban and kropki being more for wanting critical thinking practice but not wanting to tackle a 9x9 just yet.

these feel more like "no beginners allowed" puzzles than something you'd give to a beginner
