New Neighbors

(Published on 14. February 2026, 16:22 by 99%Sneaky)

The Rules of this Puzzle:

Normal sudoku rules apply.

Digits in cages sum to the number in the top-left corner of the cage. Adjacent digits within the same cage, within 3x3 box N, where N is the box number, may not sum to or have a difference of N.

[Boxes are numbered left-to-right, top-to-bottom, starting with 1 in the top-left and ending with 9 in the bottom right.]

The two digits in the pink circles may not be identical.

I am also agree with Sujoyku regarding rule needs a little more clarification.

The pink circles are a bit inelegant imo

I also have multiple solutions (both with a different line 1 to the solutions)

Nice puzzle. Took me 20m and only one start which is good for me and no checking along the way. Liked the 20 cage. A minor quibble. It would have been nice if you didn't need the pink circles.

Hey 99%Sneaky, I have started to solve the puzzle and think the "adjacent digits in a cage" rule might need some clarification. (At least, I got it wrong at first.) It should be emphasized it holds for two digits only when both are in the same cage. As is, one can just read it as "cage digits" vs "non-cage digits".

Very clever constraint! The whole puzzle flowed very smoothly.
