Modular Spirals

(Published on 5. February 2026, 06:45 by Nell Gwyn)

  • Place a digit from 1 to 9 in each cell such that digits do not repeat in an unbroken "row" with no black hexagons separating them (along any of the three directions in which cells share edges). Some digits are given.
  • A purple dot on a vertex means that the three digits touching that vertex: 1) all have different remainders when divided by three, and also 2) form a three-cell "thermometer" that runs clockwise around the dot, the start and end points of which must be deduced (digits on this thermometer must strictly increase along it).

My brain feels like it's been sent through spirals by this puzzle, but when you get into the flow of it, it resolves so beautifully! Awesome idea and stunningly executed!
