Rising Water

(Published on 1. March 2026, 12:35 by .proxz14)

Rules:

1) Place the digits 1-9 in every row, column, and 3x3 box at most once each.
2) Standard Nurikabe rules apply: Shade some cells (water) so that all shaded cells form one orthogonally connected area. Clues (circles) cannot be shaded, and every orthogonally connected area of unshaded (island) cells contains exactly one clue, the value of which represents the size of the area. No 2x2 region may be entirely shaded.
3) Clues on the right side of the grid show the number of water cells in their respective row.
4) Japanese Sums: Shade some cells such that the clues to the left and top of the grid indicate the sums of the consecutive unshaded cell blocks in their row or column, in the correct order. Place 0 in all shaded (water) cells. For each row and column, either all or no clues are given.
5) Thermometers: Values along a blue thermometer must strictly increase from the bulb to the tip while the values along a green thermometer must increase or stay the same as they move away from the bulb.
6) Cipher: Clues are ciphered where each letter represents a unique digit 0-9. A ? can be any digit, but a double digit clue may not begin with a 0.

*Note*: For solution checker to function, fill in digits on the main 12x12 grid (inlucing 0 for water), the water-counting thermometer on the right, and the cipher tracker.
