My tribute to Marty Sears' Rat Run series - except I'm the proud keeper of a lizard! Pathing puzzles are fun and I've been enjoying this compass rule, so let's go and eat some tasty insects!

Sudoku:

• Normal Sudoku rules apply.

Compass:

• The digits 1 through 8 represent directions, starting at 1 and going clockwise around the compass. For example, if 1 were south-east, then 2 would be south, 3 south-west and so on round to 8 being east.
• You must determine the compass' orientation. The same compass applies to every clue in the puzzle.

Insects:

• Black dots are crickets and separate cells in a 2:1 ratio. Larry the Lizard likes these!
• White dots are waxworms and separate cells with a difference of 1. Larry the Lizard likes these!
• Yellow diamonds are wasps and separate cells in a 3:1 ratio. Larry the Lizard hates these - they sting!
• Insects do not necessarily appear in every place they could appear.

• Larry the Lizard takes a path consisting of steps, starting from the cell in which he is shown. Each step after the first starts from the cell on which the previous step ended.
• When Larry takes a step, including the one by which he leaves the grid, he must move one cell in the direction indicated by the digit in the cell from which the step starts.
• The path must move directly through every cricket and waxworm in the grid, but may never move through a wasp, before leaving the grid through the door on the right.
• The path may not visit a cell more than once, may not cross itself, and may not pass straight through a wall (a thick line along an edge) or diagonally through a pillar (a square at a cell corner).
