Much more clues than needed, even for a 1* puzzle. The only real challenge was recognizing the notes, especially on the thick lines.

I can't remember everything but I didn't used the dutch whisper loop between box 4 and 7 and the arrow in boxes 3 and 6.

I'm curious to know which clues you thought were not needed. Since you're not allowed to do sudoku, every cell needs to be under some constraint.

It seems you might have made mistaken deductions. Keep in mind sudoku rules don't apply. The arrow and the Dutch whisper rules are on some cells that do not have any other constraints, namely r2c7 and r6c2. Without those clues those cells can be any digit from 1-9

if sudoku cannot be used, then this puzzle cannot be solved.

for example, for the 45 x-sums, N=9 is "obvious", right ?
NO, it isn't. 699993xxx is valid.

for example, in box 6, the "odd" cell is 2, right?
NO, it isn't. ANY of {1234} are valid.

ha ha, jk, renbans and cages save you.

that's 8 in the middle (chocolate teapot hint)

p.s level 2 is an accurate difficulty rating

Nice, especially for someone like me who always struggles with Sudoku. But certainly only one star even if you never use Sudoku.

Although I found it very amusing, it was a difficult task for my eyes to properly see the numbers with all the different lines
