The first version of this puzzle was set months ago, but it was really hard and not so enjoyable to solve. This is a highly nerfed and hopefully better version of the same idea. Enjoy!
Rules:
Sudoku: Place the digits 1-9 exactly once in each row, column and box.
Diagonals: Digits must not repeat along either of the main diagonals.
Thermometer: Along a grey thermometer, digits strictly increase, reading from the bulb end.
Solution code: row 5

I spend about as much time staring staring at the blank grid thinking about the break in as I did solving the rest of the puzzle once I got the initial idea. Interesting puzzle.

I searched around for the break in aimlessly for over an hour, then when I finally asked the right question the puzzle almost filled itself in!

Nice. Searched long enough for the right things and found them. Which barely happens in my real Schubladen.

I have given it 4* for difficulty, the solve path was very nice but required multiple little tricks and wasn't just done after the initial break in. Thank you for this puzzle, I really enjoyed it :)
