Peripheral Vision

(Published on 13. January 2026, 20:51 by Marwood)

Welcome! I hope you enjoy this, the first puzzle I have published.

It's been tested by experienced solvers, and had some good feedback, so I really hope it provides an interesting challenge.

I appreciate any feedback, good luck!

Rules:

Normal Sudoku rules apply. Place the numbers 1 to 9 in every row, column and 3x3 box.

On red Parity Lines the digits alternate between odd and even numbers.

On dark grey Sequence Lines digits are in order (up or down) with a constant difference.
E.g 1-2-3, 8-6-4-2

The green cages are Repeating Coordinate Cages.
The two digits indicate the row (first digit) and column (second digit) at which to repeat the pair of digits, in order.
The first digit is placed at the coordinates, and the second orthogonally to the right.
For example, if the contents of the cage are 4 (first/left digit) and 2 (second/right digit), then the 4 is placed at row 4, column 2, and the 2 is placed to the right of that at row 4 column 3.

Solve on Sudokupad

Solution code: The digits in column 8 from top to bottom.

I pencil-marked weirder than I have ever pencil-marked before with this puzzle, and had a blast doing so.
Break-in is fun, and made me feel smarter than I am xD

excellent combination of constraints, fun patterns!

Beautiful puzzle!
I think the wording for the "in order" portion of the gray lines can be improved (I originally thought they were in increasing order). This would be for the instructions in the Sudokupad.
