Digits on a thermometer strictly increase starting from the bulb
All possible thermometers of length 4 or longer are given, including any thermometers which partially overlap with the given thermometers.
Digits either side of a white dot are adjacent. Not all white dots are given.

Clarified rules, removed alternate solution

I got what appears to be an alternative solution. If you swap the top corners in boxes 1, 2, 5, and 6 and swap the 3s and 4s in boxes 3 and 4, as far as I can tell, it still works. What did I miss?

Didn't know how to tackle this one, looked at the solution.
When it says they "may branch or share a bulb." did you mean to write "may NOT" because I could make a branchy thermometer with a shared bulb and could extend the existing shown.
Consider where you can use "must" instead of "may" also because that helps people who speak English differently.
