Colouring Kropki’s

(Published on 31. December 2025, 05:13 by DarthSillious72)

Normal Sudoku rules apply. Cells separated by a chess king’s or knight’s move must contain different digits. Orthogonally adjacent cells cannot be consecutive. Cells separated by a black dot are in a 1:2 ratio. All black dots are given. Try it here!.

Solution code: The middle row of the puzzle.

Negative constraints are one of my favourites too! Second only to chess.

I love negative constraints, and the twist on this one easily makes it one of my favorites. Thanks!

Didn't notice the nonconsecutive rule. Dived straight into colouring got confused then restarted just using numbers.

Picked a nice selection of 5 colors, plus white. I initially had chosen six, since I didn't notice the nonconsecutive rule.

Thanks for the kind words! It is easy enough to not need colouring if you’re experienced, but I much prefer to use it, hence the name in sudoku pad. And I’m happy I was able to prove you wrong about knight + king + nonconsecutive ;)

Reminds me of the first puzzle I ever set - a version is here https://logic-masters.de/Raetselportal/Raetsel/zeigen.php?id=000AMG (there was a version called Summer Nights with more dots). Nicely done

A while ago I commented that king + knight + non-consecutive was played out, but this puzzle was inventive enough to prove me wrong

No colouring needed for me, under 15 minutes.

That was fun but it didn't need coloring?

Thanks! I’ve made the link clickable now

Learning a little bit of html can help make your puzzles more presentable. To make the links clickable, you'll need to put them in this template: <a href="link">text</a> so for this puzzle, it would be <a href="https://sudokupad.app/5vtqvi9v5y">Try it online</a>.

Images are a little harder, but on this website you upload a screenshot (the image must be of dimensions 1000x1000 or smaller, so sometimes you need to use a tool to shrink them) and then take note of what id is given to it, and then eventually put <img:######> in your descriptions.

I don’t have an image set for this puzzle. The link is the last line of the rules, you can just copy paste that into your browser. Hope this helps!

Something's wrong with the puzzle as I cant see the image and can't get to the puzzle.
