Rules:
- Normal sudoku rules apply, i.e. each row, column, and 3x3 region has to contain the digits from 1 to 9 once each.
- Killer Cages: Digits in a cage must sum to the clue in the top left.
- German Whispers: Adjacent digits on a green line must have a difference of at least 5.

this one is very easy for experts, but beginners will find it hard. typically called level 2.
specifically, the break-in requires that you KNOW that ANY 3-cell cage that sums to a SINGLE DIGIT (eg. 9) MUST include AT LEAST TWO of the {123} set. yes, you COULD fill in a million candidates and case, but ...
and that knowledge, and recognizing that it is THAT procedure that you need to pull off the shelf, that comes only from experience.

To my understanding, it is either a hard 1* or a more approachable 2* puzzle. But of course the assessment of difficulty is highly subjective. Thanks a lot for sharing your thoughts!

Aus meiner Sicht handelt es sich entweder um ein schwierigeres 1*- oder ein zugängliches 2*-Rätsel. Aber die Einschätzung des Schwierigkeitsgrades ist natürlich sehr subjektiv. Fun puzzle! Agree with others - more like a 2-3* for me. Maybe I missed something simple but my solve path was pretty complicated.
