Consecutive Yin-Yang

(Published on 19. December 2025, 05:02 by prismic911)

Rules:

Normal Sudoku rules apply.

Shade some cells in the grid so that all shaded cells are orthogonally connected and all unshaded cells are orthogonally connected. No 2x2 region can contain only shaded or only unshaded cells.

Circles are shaded and they are dead end path for the shaded region (i.e. only one shaded cell is orthogonally connected to a circle). All circles are given.

Orthogonally connected shaded cells must be consecutive digits.

The digit in a circle with an arrow is the sum of the digits on the arrow. Arrow circles are not the same as the other circles and are not necessarily shaded or dead end path.

@monaters, check carefully the digit you entered. It seems that you have a repeated 8 in the last row.

Very interesting YY-construction! Took some time to find the nice break-in, but the dead end rule was new to me. Thank you very much for creating and sharing this great puzzle.

Arrow circles may or may not be shaded worked. Maybe add to rules. Great puzzle. Bit of a trial and error was necessary on the start. But somehow a refreshing ruleset. Great fun thx.

Clarify the rule about the arrow circles which are not necessarily shaded.
