Sudoku: Normal Sudoku rules apply.

Yin/Yang:

  • Divide the grid into two colours. Each colour's cells are all fully orthogonally connected. No 2x2 square is all one colour.
  • A cell with thin black arrows counts how many boundaries between colours exist in all the directions of the arrows combined.
  • A cell with thin black arrows also counts how many cells of the same colour it sees, including itself, in all four cardinal directions; the other colour blocks line of sight. No cells without thin black arrows have this trait.

German Whisper Loop:

  • Draw a loop through the grid. The loop moves orthogonally and goes through every cell with a thick green arrow, and continues further in the direction of the green arrow for as far as the digit in the cell indicates, not including itself (arrows may point in either direction along the loop). The loop may never cross itself or touch itself, not even diagonally.
  • Any two cells that are next to each other on the loop differ by at least 5.

Updated German wording to include "zusammen" when explaining arrow count. I hope this is correct; my native language is English!

Nice flow, not as hard as it seems. Had to re-read the rules carefully at the end since I missed the negative constraint.

another brilliant yy puzzle. definitely of the "beginners beware" category, but quite easy within that context.

some hints:
1) there are 3 separate phases: yy -> loop -> finish
2) there is an "almost given" cell, and the solve proceeds smoothly, even linearly, from there.
3) you can ignore the negative constraint until the very end. it is needed exactly once.

rules error in german version:

para 2, counting TRANSITIONS:
the word "COMBINED" is missing from the german version. this is pretty important
