Doppelgänger's Approach

Play [Doppelgänger's Approach] on SudokuPad.
- Place the digit 0 and eight of the digits 1-9 in every row, column, and 3x3 box in the main grid. (The row, column, and 3x3 box outside the grid is used to track the missing digit for its respective row, column, or box.)
- No two rows, columns, or 3x3 boxes will be missing the same digit.
- Each 0 in the grid must have three different digits missing from its row, column, and box.
X/V: Cells separated by an X sum to 10, cells separated by a V sum to 5.
Black Kropki: Cells separated by a black dot have one digit double the other.
NOTES
Solution code: Column 8, top to bottom, followed by the missing digit for the column.

First Doppelganger! Took us some getting used to

Nice! Hardly trivial, but it was usually pretty easy to figure out where to go next. I enjoyed the interaction in boxes 1 and 9 between the x-v combo and the black dot.
Definitely harder than the thermo doppelganger puzzle that got posted earlier, but still very approachable for people familiar with XV and kropki.

"approachable doppelgänger" = this.
why?
because:
- it uses the well established clue type that dots and XV are in a straight forward manner.
- features the logic of the doppelgänger setting in a non trivial and interesting way.
- allows for a solve path that increasingly involves that doppelgänger logic.
